From reselling McDoubles in the school hallways or stocking vending machines in 5th grade, Cassidy has been piecing together ideas since childhood. Instead of attending college, she pursued alternative education, designing her own curriculum through real-world experiments and online courses. She even embarked on a mission to complete 12 internships in 12 months. Some of these projects gained momentum. After spending a few years in the environmental nonprofit sector, Cassidy delved into social enterprise, seeking ways to prioritize sustainability within capitalism.
Cassidy earned recognition as one of Canada’s Top 10 Entrepreneurs under 25 and relocated to Vancouver to participate in an incubator. Here, she worked on launching a sustainable plastic manufacturing plant to address a significant gap in Canada's waste management and recycling processes.
Motivated by the rapid pace of software development and a desire for more tangible skills, Cassidy dissolved her company and moved to New York to attend a coding boot camp. There, she acquired technical skills that, combined with her entrepreneurial mindset, led her to Axiom Zen, a venture studio. At Axiom Zen, she collaborated with a team of founders, repeatedly initiating businesses that leveraged emerging technology. Her focus eventually shifted to blockchain when Axiom Zen transformed into Dapper Labs, contributing to the early stages of web3 and NFT projects in 2018. Subsequently, she concentrated on supporting creators and joined the team at Wattpad, assisting millions of authors at various stages of their writing careers.
Continuing to approach problems from unconventional angles and discovering solutions in unexpected places, Cassidy has found her niche in early-stage product management. When she's not immersed in emerging technology, you can find her at a crowded concert or on a long road trip.
