My mum and I agreed, :hat_tip: was something the world needed, we're working on an application for submission to the Unicode Consortium proposing the hat tip emoji. The six-page application needed a proposed design, a business case including the words it might replace, research on how it might be used in other cultures, and proof that people are already looking for this emoji. Using Google trends and Mechanical Turk, I'm currently working to validate other folks want this emoji too.
